Quick Update

Blogging my cancer treatment was not a good idea. It just wasn't something I wanted to think or talk about when not required. Here is an update: Finished radiation at the end of October. The last week had some very, very rough days that I hope I never have to relive. The staff was excellent and sympathetic which I appreciate more than I could express. It is now the end of January, and I'm finally convinced that my hair is indeed growing back. Whoo-hoo! It will take a lot of time, but it seems to be the right color and texture. Jan 8, I had an MRI which showed no regrowth of tumor--no tumor at all. This is great news. I still have to visit my neurologist (I'm going to see if I can get off the Keppra) and my radiation oncologist in the next few weeks. But things look really good. I was able to visit home for a few weeks from 25 Dec-7 Jan. It was a whirlwind, but I was glad to spend time with my family. Didn't get any Mexican food, though, so I am planning another trip soon. :)

half-way through radiation

I am about half way through radiation and just this morning began losing my hair. I don't think I could have been better prepared, but it is still distressing. :) I know it is temporary, but I wish we could fast-forward through the negative parts of the experience. I know that God is working even through the small stuff. The side effect which has caused more problems is the fatigue. I was so tired this past weekend, I wasn't able to even imagine having the energy to get up and go somewhere. I'm grateful for all your prayers--I was able to enjoy PWOC Tuesday and have had great spirits and higher energy this week.
